About Us

I’m Mampi, Director of Dehing Tea (Shangrilla T Limited). Originally from Assam, India, I am now based in London. I grew up in a region known for producing some of the world’s finest teas, where enjoying high-quality tea was a daily ritual, not a luxury. Surrounded by lush tea gardens, I developed a deep appreciation for fresh, single-origin tea.

When I moved to London, I found myself missing the single-origin teas I had grown up with. While tea is deeply cherished here, I noticed that the majority were often blended from multiple origins, and didn’t capture the rich, authentic taste of Assam tea that I was used to. The idea of sharing Assam's exceptional single origin tea with the world was always on my mind, but it was during lockdown that I decided to turn it into reality. In 2022, I founded Dehing Tea.

Our family has been growing tea in Assam for generations. Most of our teas come directly from our own family-run gardens in Pengri, Assam, while we also work closely with other local tea farmers. Every tea we offer is single-origin and handpicked—bringing the purest taste of Assam straight from our garden to your cup.
