Unlike many grassy or overly vegetal green teas, our Assam green tea is crafted from carefully selected and freshly harvested leaves from our single estate gardens. The tea leaves are gently steamed to prevent oxidation and retain their natural freshness, soft vegetal notes and smooth finish. Assam green tea is a refreshing alternative to black tea, well suited to daytime drinking and is well known for its natural health benefits.

What Makes Assam Green Tea Different?

Most people associate Assam with strong black tea, but the region also produces exceptional green tea.

Assam green tea is made using the same large leaf Assamica tea plant traditionally used for Assam black tea. However, unlike black tea, the leaves are carefully heated soon after harvesting to prevent oxidation. This preserves the tea’s natural freshness while allowing the leaf to retain more delicate vegetal and grassy notes.

The result is a clean, smooth and refreshing green tea that doesn't feel overly grassy or vegetal when compared to many lighter green teas.
